1st Place - $2,500 - Jane Sloan, Needles High School
Jane Sloan is a high school math teacher at Needles High School. Her project, ‘The Infinite Canvas,’ transforms the math classroom into a professional drafting studio. Students will explore California Common Core State Standards in similarity and geometric series by designing, hand-drawing, and painting large-scale fractal posters. This project blends mathematical rigor with creativity, encouraging students to see math as both analytical and artistic.
2nd Place - $1,500 - Angin Camba, Mohave High School
Angin Camba is a high school teacher at Mohave High School, teaching 9th-grade Environmental Science and 12th-grade Anatomy and Physiology. His project focuses on strengthening hands-on learning in his anatomy classroom by purchasing lab supplies to ensure students can safely engage in meaningful, real-world laboratory experiences.
